Fees: $20 (Waived for Documented Proof of Spay/Neuter($10) and/or Rabies ($10))

Service for Richardson Residents ONLY. If you adopted from us and are in the 30 days Return Grace Period, please make a note of that in the "Visiting For" section.

Dog Owner Surrender (For Richardson Residents ONLY)

Euthanasia (For Richardson Residents ONLY)

Please note the Type of animal (Dog, Cat, Other) and the Reason for Euthanasia (Health, Age, Temperament). Vet note recommending euthanasia required. We reserve the right to refuse service.

We are not able to have you in the room before, during, or after the procedure (per state law). You will need to say goodbye in our lobby.

Additionally, we perform communal cremation with the remains – so we are unable to return ashes or release the body back to you for a private burial. You can choose to hire a third-party company to pick up the remains from us and do a private cremation/burial. Most residents that use this service pick “Pet Memories” or “Toothacres”. Please arrange this pickup with them prior to your appointment, as we are not able to hold remains for an extended period of time.

Euthanasia Fee: $25

The staff were very professional and helpful and showed a real love of the animals. Signage for the temporary situation while construction is happening was also very clear and helpful in finding the correct place to go.

Not sure the name of the receptionist who helped me but I am so grateful for her assistance, she made sure to ask me if I was ok when I was overwhelmed about surrending my kitten, very professional and seems to handle multitasking very well, she was literally taking care of several customers all at one time, I am so happy to know that my kitten will be adopted to a loving home, very grateful for Richardson Animal Shelter! Thank you!
